Adrian Grenier is a Mama's Boy!
With his mom and Entourage family in tow, I found this out at the premiere of Adrian’s documentary Shot in the Dark at The Director’s Guild of America on Wednesday night.
In a story about Adrian’s search for and confrontation with his estranged father, the actor was thoroughly pleased to talk passionately about filmmaking and his love for his mom. The film was made as a summer project nearly years ago, but will finally be shown on HBO on June 3, 2007.
I got a chance to talk to his mom, who Adrian obviously takes after. She has the same gorgeous eyes -- and long long lashes! She was clearly proud of her son, but she did disclose that Adrian was apparently a grumpy little kid. She said that Adrian grew up wanting to be either an actor or a psychologist; appropriate because he always had so many feelings. And can you believe I got her to talk about her son’s dating life?! She said she would ideally like for Adrian to find a “one-on-one relationship,” but that she knew he was too young to rush into anything.
Adrian stayed close to her side as they talked to reporters and posed for the cameras. I overheard Adrian telling a reporter that the film made his relationship with his mom so much stronger.
So he’s hot, single, and he loves his mother. In one word: PERFECT!
Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Rex Lee and Jerry Ferrara all showed to support their Entourage cohort. Joseph Reitman huddled around a table in what looked like serious Hollywood talk while loads of women approached Gretchen Mol to ask her about her baby news. Her hubby never left her side except to get his 
wife some water. Alicia Witt was also there, dressed in the cutest red and white polka dot dress, belted with the sweetest grosgrain ribbon. And, of course, L.A.’s hottest chicks were certainly there, hamming it up and hoping for a glance from the mama’s boy himself.
Adrian loved the attention from everyone in the reception room, but kept a protective eye on his mom, making sure she was comfortable all night. Awwww! So cute, right? Can you imagine if he had been a psychiatrist? I’d let him scope my psyche any day!
