Drew Barrymore's Public Plea for Babies
When you’re hungry, you just want food. So making the choice to go to Dominick’s was not the wisest. As gorg and delish as that place is, the service isn’t exactly speedy and getting a table can be tough. But my friends and I stuck with it, watching the scene as we loaded down wine at the bar.
We were seated about an hour after we had arrived, just two tables away from where Drew Barrymore was sitting with a guy and a girl. She had just lit a cigarette and looked really content (but who isn’t after a meal at Dom’s?). We got lost in our ordering and wine drinking until I looked at the table next to us and noticed the cutest little toddler ever! You know you’re in Hollywood when a 2-year-old is out to dinner at 10pm! But this kid was so cute and walked table to table giving everyone in the patio a cute little stare.
Drew just ate it up! She jumped from her table and ran over to the kid. He was a little scared at first but relaxed when she started playing peek-a-boo while swaying to the Shins. She didn’t care that everyone was noticing her almost desperate desire to connect with the child. She tried to give him a hug but he just stood there and she laughed it off and went to the bathroom as if she didn’t care.
Why is Drew befriending a child? Could it be that she’s yearning for one of her own? I wouldn’t be surprised if her next big headline reads: “Drew Barrymore adopts child from [insert name of a third world country]!”
Something tells me that despite her past, she might make a pretty good mom…

I think that givin her past and how she has risen above it, she would make a great mother. Motherhood is a blessing to anyone and they should be so lucky to be able to be a mother.

I totally agree that Drew would make a lovely mother, Pat is past, she had her own issues with her mother and i think she would make a good mother by giving her child the life she craved as a youngster.

Some people are the touchy, frrly type. I love kids but I won't just run up to one and hung them. SHE WAS HIGH ON POT!!!!!!!!
Okay, here's my problem....PARENTS keep control of your toddlers!!!!!!!!! Not everyone thinks they're endearing as they go from table to table in a restaurant. Be considerate of your fellow diners and the restaurant staff!!!!!! I have seen a lot of little "darlings" dart in front of a server who is carrying a loaded tray of hot food. I can't wait until one of these kids actually gets hurt because its parents think it's ever so adorable that their free spirited tot is dancing in the middle of a crowded restaurant.
I love kids...as long as they're well behaved and their parents actually teach them how to act when they're in public.

It seems some people have a different view of Drew, but in the long run she has been up and down, and is finally she is at her best right now. I think in all honestly she would be great at anything especially a Mom.
When people drink they do stupid things they normally wouldn't. If they were at starbucks early am i doubt it would have been as much fun and probably would not have happened. The parents should have left the kid at home with a sitter instead of taking it to a bar at 10:00 at night. NOTHING CUTE ABOUT THE SITUATION AT ALL.
I think Drew is a sweet, and fantastic woman. I think she would be a credit to motherhood. I congradulate her for having the courage to approach the young child in public. Drew is a proud woman, who deserves whatever her heart desires, even a child. Any child would be blessed to have her as their mother.

Why not! I think she would be an awesome mother. Look at Madonna. She was one of the wildest women ever, but now she is a wonderful and nuturing mother to all her kids.
This is a waste of space. Do you really think that someone (anyone) talking and playing with a baby is news? Who cares that Drew talked to a baby? If she talked to a dog would you want to know if she was going to buy one??
Clildren are so wonderful. They bring the best and the worst out in adults. I am the mother of seven adults,and I have 12 grand children with 1 on the way. In the last 35years I have seen many changes in men and women in the way they react to children. I think a women are unsure as to how to relate to their own children let alone other peoples children. Lets put a little fun into our lives and not be so stiff. teach our children to be safe and protect them selfs when they are alone. Teach them to enjoy other people when they are in public with mom dad ect. one day they will grow up have good communication skills if they are allowed to interact in social settings. Drew keep being the sweet person you are!
If she wants babies I'll happily provide her with the means to have one... :-)

Some people just like to play...not have the responsibility of parenthood. Sounds like she was out having a good time and not looking for a baby on the menu.
i want to know why people have to make things more than what they are? i love drew and she probably loves kids. when i see a cute kid i want to entertain them for a bit myself, especially when they are so cute, its just the humane thing to do. reporters, please stop making mounds out of mole hills and just report the obvious, which is that there was a cute kid that drew saw and she gave him her attention.

Why does anyone care if shes paying attention to a child. good for her for not being a social snob and yelling at the parents for letting their child roam around a busy place. Maybe she just thought the kid was cute and had some ET flashbacks.who knows who cares. There are thousands of people having babies every day and know one is questioning them. and if she adopts well then more power to her.
