Models Eat!?!

pinkberry.jpg
It seems that everyone in L.A. is obsessing over the latest FroYo craze – Pinkberry. The LA Times calls it “the taste that spawned 1,000 parking tickets.” This latest diet craze has only 25 calories and 6g of carbs for a small serving, sans toppings! Fans of Pinkberry include everyone from Lindsay Lohan and Jennifer Garner to Brad Pitt and Wilmer Valderrama. Me? Not so much. Not a fan. It’s super bitter. But needless to say, I was dragged by my two image-obsessed gay friends to the Beverly Hills location.

As we walked into the shop, we were caught in flashing light bulbs. Wondering why paparazzi would want anything to do with me, I heard one of my friends gasp, “OMG! It’s The Models!”

Sure enough, it was Renee, Natasha, Jaslene, and Dionne of America’s Next Top Model posing for a crew of photographers, decked out in of-the moment couture while eating the fruit and yogurt concoctions. “Ne Ne” looked amazing in a white linen pant suit while sexy Natasha wore a metallic pink and gold empire waist dress. Jaslene looked smokin’ in a strapless de la Renta looking dress but Dionne had her typical mean look on her face. I can’t even remember what she was wearing her face was so fierce!

The models were super sweet and responsive to the crowd that gathered around the shop, but it was awesome to see them respond so well to photographer Stephen Danelian’s direction. Not to mention what a relief it was to see models actually eat food! But of course, we can’t be sure they kept it down…

We have to admit that Pinkberry is tasty. I must confess though that I just tasted better. My froyo moment happened while I was visiting Toronto at a frozen yogurt chain called Yogen Fruz. Sorry Pinkberry, I'm going to Yogen Fruz...Only in Canada, pity.

Have you noticed the ridiculous PinkBerry knockoffs spurting up around town? So over it! There's KiwiBerry, SnowBerry, RoseBerry, Fiore, Berri Good...Can these guys really get away with charging $15 bucks for dessert?

I detest Pinkberry. I personally think it is some sort of a cult.

Hi to all you other Yogurt fans out there. I must confess that I am a yogurt freak myself. I know everyone out there is so in love with Pinkberry but I just DON'T understand why the hell that is.
1. PINKBERRY basically tastes like frozen sugar water. YUCK! It seems like they don't care about taste and all they care about is making a good ol' buck.
I went to this new yogurt shop called Frucci located near MT SAC & CAL POLY POMONA. (Check out their website www.frucciyogurt.com under News for their addresses).
FRUCCI on the other hand really considers taste and ingredients (its rich and you can tell that it has so much less sugar than pinkberry). They really seem to care about people's health and WELL-BEING.
2. FRUCCI is also CHEAPER than pinkberry. Pinkberry even charges a dollar extra for their green tea (what a rip!!) whereas frucci charges all yogurt flavors equally. You guys need to try the Pina Colada (their most popular flavor).
3. Frucci's workers give GREAT SERVICE.
