Going Green (Carpet) for Steve Carell's Evan Almighty Premiere

It was a premiere of biblical proportions! Stars of Evan Almighty -- Steve Carell, Lauren Graham and Wanda Sykes -- walked the green carpet at the premiere on Sunday afternoon at Universal Studios City Walk. All the whilte hundreds of fans lined the carpet and gathered on balconies, hoping for a glimpse of the A-list arrivals.

Adam Sandler showed up -- fresh out of bed? -- in green basketball shorts, holey t-shirt and Ugg slippers. When photographers on the green carpet joked about his disheveled appearance, he cracked: "What!?! You think I’m not dressed up for a premiere?"

Adam's latest sidekick, his Now I Pronounce you Chuck and Larry costar Kevin James, arrived looking heftier than usual in an huge black tee, baseball cap and dark sunglasses. His date? His pregnant wife Steffiana . I think Kevin may be gaining some sympathy baby weight.

Saturday Night Live vet Kevin Nealon was playing the part of Charley as he showed with his blondetourage of Angels -- SNL alums Rachael Harris and Ardin Myrin and his wife Susan Yeagley-Nealon.

Paul Rudd showed up solo and -- hello! -- gorgeous. I have a thing for granola types! He was wearing Birkenstocks with his jeans, but it was fitting for the "greenness" of the event.

Screams of fans were heard as Steve arrived. He waved and set off down the row of anxious reporters, where I got this shot of him talking to E! I overheard him comment on how grateful he was for his success, sincerely saying, “If I have anymore success than I already have, on top of this, I might get in trouble.” He was excited to talk about his next project with Juliette Binoche and Dane Cook called Dan in Real Life. He looked so perfect in his grey pinstripe suit. Classy, appropriate and humble. Gotta love that!

Most gorgeous on the carpet? Definitely Lauren in her ivory and black Monique Lhuillier dress. It was a tight fit but she looked amazing. I overheard her talking about how smart Steve is and how much she really respected him.

A supposedly sober David Hasselhoff walked the green carpet hand in hand with his daughter Hayley. It was awkward to see a father take his teen daughter's hand for the length of the huge carpet. Dressed in matching shades of blue, they only posed for photographers and avoided all questions. He was trying too hard to be jovial with photogs, proving that he is a bad actor. It was so obvious that it was just a ploy to get us all to think that his family is happy and healthy. Nice try.

Christian singer Jeremy Camp and band members from Switchfoot walked the green carpet, seemingly excited by the events going on around them. Jeremy gave one reporter an eight second private performance.

A whole bunch of The Office-mates showed up to support Steve, including Leslie David Baker (Stanley), Mindy Kaling (Kelly), Ed Helms (Andy), Brian Baumgartner (Kevin), Angela Kinsey (Angela), Creed Bratton (Creed) and Kate Flannery (Meredith). Angela looked so cute, so I asked her what she was wearing. She was so excited I asked, so she proudly told me that her shoes were $100 at Steve Madden and the dress was from Target! Kate’s dress was from Zara. Don’t you love that they aren’t caught up in the hype?

Surprisingly, Morgan Freeman, who plays God in the movie, wasn't able to make it. But I'm sure everyone is very forgiving of his absence. After all, we can't be mad at God, can we?

A little tired of reporters writing unglamorous comment about Britney Spears and David Hasselhoff.These 2 people have addictions that are known medically as an illnesses. Lay off a bit & they may succeed in their cure. And when people have said "illnesses" they are not themselves & do weird things. Never been there, thanfully, but have had family members there

Inspired film. It is so affirming to see Spiritual Cinema from a major player like Universal Studios. Bravo! I noticed that I was laughing harder than most people in the audience, but when others start to experience what happens when you surrender your life to a higher power, this movie will make total sense to them.
