Kimberly Locke on Britney Spears's VMA Flop
Although the night was supposed to be about celebrating the achievements of Gladys Knight at the 2007 Ella Awards in Beverly Hills, the attention was brought back to none other than Britney Spears. Maybe it was the congregation of musicians that made the topic so popular, but in nearly every social circle at the non-profit party, someone was talking trash about poor Brit Brit.
It got juicy when I introduced myself to American Idol season two runner-up Kimberly Locke, who had no hesitation talking about Britney's VMA performance.
"It was a mess!" The songstress proclaimed. "A mess, mess, MESS! Why even go on? I can't believe a mediocre singer would be given so many opportunites and not take advantage of them. She was embarrassing. A complete MESS!"
Five years ago, no one would have vocalized that harsh of an opinion so easily about Britney. But now, nothing can be said to defend her. Kimberly was right on, but of course, she did mention that her own latest album is in the top 20 on the charts.

I love Kimberley! Its time REAL singers start to speak out with frustration about "singers" like Britney! Britney's performance only made us long for real vocal talent like Alicia Keys who was amazing later in the broadcast! Kim's a great singer with a great album BASED ON A TRUE STORY! And the album, unfortunately isn't in the top 20 - but her single CHANGE was #6 and BAND OF GOLD is now #17. Get that CD!

What a bitch. Britney obviously has extreme problems and needs help. Locke should show some compassion. I'm not a Britney fan but she has sold millions of album with her " mediocre" voice. When Kimberly Locke sells millions of albums than she can talk. Kimberley's latest album has only sold 16,000.
Britney looks great and are her songs! Who's Kimberly, another blacky who wants more fame? The world wants to see more of the blond and brunette!
Britney needs help. She is a mess, and whoever is managing her is just taking her money and doesn't care anything about her. Let her come back when she's ready, but to see her pushed out there like that isn't right.

Brit needs to quit. There is talk of her ass showing up for the Emmys. WHY? She needs to go home and raside her children. She used to be hot, but that performance on ths VMA's shows now that's she's not.
Sorry but Kim is right on and I agree with her. What Ms. Spears should concentrate on is taking caring of her sons and showing some responsibility which she seems to know nothing about. For those who call Kim a bitch go ahead but it is her right to speak out and I guess that makes me one as well. Out of the three who are alumni of the Mickey Mouse Club (Spears, Timberlake and Aguilera) Christina still has the best chops going!
Kim is not a suberb live performer either. She is ill at ease with a mainstream audience, her banter is dull, and her laughter fake. She should talk!
I agree with Kim and if people would read her comments she's telling the truth. Britney is not a singer and if it was not for the the mixing and remixing of her records everyone else would know it. I sure hope she gets some help very soon. She's a train reck looking for some place to happen.
Kim is a nice person, and is entitled to her opinion she also happens to be right. Britney has gone downhill for sometime and she just keeps on peddaling faster to get there. Plus HELLO she wasn't singing she was lip-synching GEEZ what an artist!!
Hello , Dawn and Joan did you see the poor lip synching that Kim was doing in her underwear on the Utube video. Geez what an artist. Kim fans shouldn't attack Brit for doing exactly what Kim was doing. I hardly think a nice person attacks another singer when she is in crisis.
I feel that Kim was 100% right that Brittany was not ready to come back on to a stage so soon. Give Brittany some time and then maybe she will be back to her old self. Now as of what ppl are saying about Kim. I would pick Kim any day over Brittany. Kim may not be as big as Brittany but who cares.
Kimberley's a much better singer than Britney, but Britney has always been miles above Kim in terms of performing. Kim should learn some class & not kick another performer when she's down, especially not to the media. And all this time I thought K-Lo was a nice, Christian gal.
